Several inexpensive airlines operate year-round flights from British, Dutch and Belgian towns to nearby Bordeaux (with the new highway only 1 1/2 hrs drive) and Toulouse (2 1/2 hrs drive), and in the summer months also to Bergerac (45 mts drive) and Limoges (1 hrs drive), making fly/drive holidays very easy.

Weather

The summers are brilliant and warm, usually around 25°-30° C ( 75°-85° F), with cool nights. Autumn weather is usually much kinder than e.g. in the U.K. or the Netherlands in September and October. There is central heating. Remember us for off season holidays as well. Winters are mild, typically around 5°-10° C (40°-50° F) by day and around freezing at night, with the occasional light snowfall that melts by mid-day. The silence in spring is broken only by bird's calls, and in the fall by dropping hazelnuts and chestnuts.
